Les armoiries de Santa Marta sont un symbole héraldique qui décrit la ville colombienne de Santa Marta, reconnue comme le troisième centre urbain important de la région après Barranquilla et Carthagène.
C'est la ville la plus ancienne qui existe dans votre pays et est la capitale du département de la Magdalena. La ville a subi une série de catastrophes après des incendies, des guerres internes et des tremblements de terre, perdant ainsi la trace du premier bouclier de l'État.
Le 22 décembre 1774, le Conseil des Indes rapporta que le roi d'Espagne autorisait l'image représentative de la ville à porter la conception immaculée, car Santa Marta manquait de bouclier.
Cependant, les anciens habitants de la ville ont conservé dans leurs mémoires le dessin du premier bouclier passant cette description graphique de génération en génération.
L'historien Ernesto Restrepo, chargé de rechercher les traces perdues du bouclier, a écrit une lettre en 1924 exprimant une brève description:
En mai 1929, le bureau du maire considérait la conception du plus ancien bouclier comme l'image que la ville présenterait.
En 1951, le nouveau gouvernement municipal a reconstruit le bouclier avec l'image de la Vierge, c'est le symbole qui est affiché aujourd'hui.
Description et signification
Le bouclier de Santa Marta est divisé en trois plans qui ont des éléments historiques qui représentent la ville et les croyances de ses habitants.
Premier plan
Le premier plan a un fond dans des tons de bleus, de blancs et d'éclairs lumineux représentant le ciel et symbolisant la noblesse, l'obéissance, la loyauté, le respect et l'obligation de ses habitants.
Sur le fond, l'image de la Vierge Immaculée Conception qui représente le défenseur de la ville, la fidélité, la foi, l'amour, la paix, l'ordre, le respect de la religion, du roi et des lois.
Second plan
Le deuxième avion a un fond bleu ciel, une tour brune avec une architecture de vieilles briques, avec des rayures d'un soleil levant qui représente la générosité, le courage, l'émergence, l'altitude, la grandeur, le début d'un monde prospère et développé nation.
Le Soleil qui se trouve derrière la tour représente l'émergence du peuple, l'espoir, la richesse et la royauté fidèles aux religions et à leurs cultures, la constance, la splendeur, la puissance et la lumière.
Troisième avion
Le troisième plan a pour fond une mer avec des vagues qui représentent les belles eaux calmes de la mer des Caraïbes, l'intelligence, la sagesse, l'eau comme source de subsistance pour survivre, la vie et la pureté de ses habitants.
Sur la mer, il y a un bateau à quatre rames qui représente l'espoir, la constance, la sécurité, l'équilibre, la domination, la stabilité, la tranquillité et indique la voie ouverte vers l'avenir de la ville.
