Les traditions de Lima sont le résultat du syncrétisme entre les cultures pré-inca, hispanique, asiatique et africaine, qui se reflètent dans les coutumes de ses habitants dans le cadre de leur identité.
Il existe de nombreuses traditions païennes et spirituelles qui, au XXIe siècle, sont encore en vigueur à Lima, comme les crieurs publics qui proposent bruyamment leurs produits.

Corridas
Après l'Espagne et le Mexique, le Pérou est le troisième pays taurin le plus important au monde. Chaque année, il célèbre plus de 550 festivals taurins.
La tauromachie était l'un des passe-temps les plus représentatifs que les conquérants espagnols s'efforçaient de reproduire dans le Nouveau Monde.
Les fêtes patronales de Lima en particulier, dans les villes côtières et dans les Andes, incluent des corridas dans le style indigène appelé "Yawuar Fiesta".
La fête du sang se caractérise par l'attachement d'un condor adulte au dos du taureau afin que les colons puissent porter leurs ponchos et aboutir ensuite à la libération du condor.
Cet acte est une manière traditionnelle de symboliser la suprématie de la culture indigène (représentée par le condor) sur les Espagnols.
Journée Pisco
Le pisco est une boisson alcoolisée à base de raisin, originaire du Pérou au XVIe siècle. Il a été produit à partir des premières vignes apportées sur le territoire par le marquis Francisco de Caravantes.
Les premiers centres de production de vin et de pisco étaient Ica et Moquegua. En 1630, les exportations de ces régions ont commencé vers l'Amérique centrale.
Plus tard, en 1791 vers Valparaíso, Valdivia et Concepción, et finalement en 1800, le marché européen et nord-américain avait déjà été conquis.
La célébration de la Journée Pisco a lieu le quatrième dimanche de juillet. A cette date, les habitants de Lima célèbrent le dynamisme touristique de la marque péruvienne grâce à certains de ses principaux produits.
Le premier samedi de février a lieu le jour de Pisco Sour. Lors de cette fête, une série d'expositions, de jumelages et de foires gastronomiques sont organisées dans la capitale.
La fondation de Lima
C'est une célébration qui a lieu du 15 au 25 janvier de chaque année, commémorant la fondation de la ville.
A la veille du 18 janvier, les habitants de la ville partagent et profitent de présentations culturelles, de dégustations culinaires et de feux d'artifice.
Les jours suivants, des défilés de comparsas et divers spectacles folkloriques sont organisés dans lesquels sont présentés des groupes culturels et artistiques péruviens et internationaux.
La procession du Seigneur des Miracles
Cette fête religieuse a lieu au mois d'octobre. Il se caractérise par la présence dans les différentes processions du sucré typique de la gare, le nougat de Doña Pepa.
Le jour de Santa Rosa de Lima
Le 30 août, le jour de Santa Rosa de Lima est célébré dans tout le pays, cependant, dans la capitale, il est vécu avec plus d'intensité.
La fête comprend un pèlerinage auquel les fidèles se rendent à Santa Rosa de Quives, où la sainte a vécu pendant son enfance.
