Les armoiries d'Oaxaca sont les armoiries de l'état d'Oaxaca. Sa conception a été préparée par Don Alfredo Canseco Feraud à la demande du gouverneur d'Oaxaca, Lic.Eduardo Vasconcelos pendant son mandat entre 1947 et 1950.
Le nom d'Oaxaca a son origine dans le mot nahuatl Hu à xyacac. Hu à x signifie huaje, qui est une plante ordinaire des vallées, yaca signifie nez et l'abréviation c signifie lieu.
Composition
Le blason d'Oaxaca se caractérise par le fait qu'il s'agit d'une toile de gueules en forme de parchemin, qui représente les batailles libertaires des Oaxaqueños.
À l'intérieur de la toile, sept étoiles d'or se détachent au total, deux sur chaque face supérieure et trois étoiles sur le fond.
Chacune correspond aux sept régions de l'État (les vallées centrales, la Mixteca, la Sierra Norte, la Cañada, la Sierra Sur, la côte, l'isthme et le bassin du Papaloapan).
La partie supérieure du bouclier a l'un des symboles les plus notoires de la culture mexicaine, l'aigle royal, et est considérée comme un emblème de bravoure et de force.
Dans ce cas, l'aigle apparaît perché sur un cactus et dévorant un serpent aux ailes déployées.
Au bas de la toile il y a un ruban blanc avec la devise du bouclier «État libre et souverain d'Oaxaca».
Caserne de boucliers
À l'intérieur du quart supérieur droit se trouve un glyphe ou toponyme Nahuatl de Huāxyacac. C'est le bon profil d'un Oaxaca indigène avec une fleur ou un fruit de l'arbre huaje devant lui.
La sinistre caserne supérieure a un fond bleu avec le profil des palais du centre archéologique de Mitla, avec une fleur dominicaine.
Le quartier inférieur est une représentation de deux mains brisant une chaîne blanche, qui symbolise le désir du peuple d'Oaxaca pour sa liberté et la fin de l'oppression.
Sens
Le symbolisme mexicain met en évidence cette image de l'aigle avec le serpent sur différents côtés. Selon la légende, la dualité entre l'aigle et le serpent est la représentation de la dualité entre le ciel et la terre. Se référant à divers textes ou fragments de légendes et d'histoires autochtones.
Au centre de la toile se trouve le champ principal de forme ovale. À l'intérieur, la caserne est divisée en trois sections, les deux casernes supérieures sont plus grandes que la caserne inférieure.
La bordure du champ est blanche et contient le slogan «Le respect des droits d'autrui, c'est la paix», avec une figure de cactus écarlate entre chaque mot.
Le slogan est une phrase célèbre de Benito Juárez, Oaxaqueño et président du Mexique de 1857 à 1872.
Les symboles nopal représentent la nature, les champs, les gens et la richesse de la région.
